A gentle space to feel understood, together.
Online therapy in English & Mandarin for individuals and couples navigating relationships, life transitions, and life across cultures.
You might be here because…
• You are part of an intercultural couple navigating differences in values, expectations, or communication styles
• You are an expat individual or couple navigating the stress of migration, life transitions, or the loss of familiar support and social connections
• You find yourselves caught in the same argument again and again, without knowing how to break the cycle
• You feel lonely or emotionally disconnected in your relationship, even though you still care deeply for each other
• You sometimes struggle to understand your emotional reactions in close relationships
• You notice that old patterns from past relationships or family experiences keep appearing in your current relationship
These experiences are often deeply human responses to relationship stress, cultural transitions, and the longing for emotional connection. If some of these experiences feel familiar, therapy may offer a supportive space to explore them.
Below, you can learn more about how I work with individuals and couples.
About me
Hello, I’m Esther, a bilingual therapist offering online therapy in English and Mandarin for individuals and couples living across different countries. I am a registered psychotherapist of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
Having grown up in Taiwan, lived in the US, and now moved to Europe, I understand how migration, cultural differences, and life transitions can shape the way we experience relationships, belonging, and emotional connection.
I am particularly drawn to working with couples. Being able to accompany partners as they move through conflict, uncertainty, and emotional distance—and gradually rediscover understanding and connection with each other—is something I find deeply meaningful.
I hope to offer a warm, thoughtful space where people can pause, reflect, and explore new ways of relating to themselves and to those they care about……
My approach
Every person and every relationship carries its own unique story. Rather than applying a fixed formula, I tailor my work to the experiences of each individual or couple and the rhythms of their lives.
My approach is primarily informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and my training in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). Even when we explore what seems like an individual struggle, we also pay attention to the relational and systemic contexts that shape it—such as family patterns, cultural background, and important relationships.
Together, we explore the emotional experiences and interaction cycles that may keep you feeling stuck, and gradually create new ways of relating that feel safer and more supportive.
Having grown up in Taiwan and later lived in the United States and Europe, I am also attentive to how culture, migration, and language can shape the ways we experience relationships, identity, and belonging.
